Design station KNUT is a hub for design and handicrafts in the middle of Kokkola
A new design store called KNUT will be opened in the old, atmospheric railway station in Kokkola on Friday 31.3.2023. The shop gathers under one roof design and handicrafts from near and far. KNUT is a hub for inspiration and handicrafts. KNUT offers an inspirational journey to Finnish craftsmanship, both for passengers who are waiting for a train and for anyone interested in handicrafts and design.
The concept for KNUT was created in collaboration between PaaPii Design Oy and Taito Keski-Pohjanmaa ry. KNUT was named after Knut Nylander – the architect of the State railways in Finland and a designer of the station building built in 1886.
At KNUT you can find local and Finnish design and handicrafts. For someone looking for products that have been produced in Kokkola, there are several options to choose from. In the store you will find PaaPii’s and Finsket’s interior design products and clothes, Taito Keski-Pohjanmaa’s DIY boxes and a large selection of products made by local crafts entrepreneurs. Every month there will also be a changing pop up bringing a variety of design products closer to customers. There will also be different kind of events in the atmospheric design station.
Whether you are arriving, leaving, or passing by, there will always be products that are easy to grab with you, wherever you are going. If you arrive with a train and choose to stop om Kokkola, you won’t be able to miss KNUT. Those arriving with car, it is easiest to park in Chydenia shopping center parking hall right across the street. The Design station is only a 10-minute walk to both PaaPii’s Factory shop and Taito Shop store.
The design station KNUT wishes all locals and travelers welcome!
